What 𘣯 means
It marks part of a Tangut character; it is not a word. Tangut components can act as dictionary radicals: lookup parts used to find a larger character. They also appear in Ideographic Description Sequences (IDS), compact formulas that show how a Tangut character is arranged. This component marks structure; it does not guarantee that the whole character has a related meaning.
Tangut writing was developed to record the Tangut language under Western Xia, a state ruled by the Tanguts. Its surviving written history begins about the 11th century. After Western Xia fell, Tangut writing continued in Buddhist sources; a pair of pillars bearing Buddhist dhāraṇī, short ritual formulas, erected in 1502 is described as the latest datable Tangut material. Component-240 is a modern scholarly label for indexing and describing historical Tangut characters, not the name of an independently documented medieval word.
Why might 𘣯 show as a box?
A font without Tangut coverage may show a box. If your device lacks a font with Tangut Components coverage, it may display an empty box or a fallback symbol. That is a missing-glyph display issue, not a different reading. A Unicode-aware picker or insert-by-code-point tool is the practical way to enter it; shortcuts depend on your system and app.
In a research note, dictionary, or font test, 𘣯 signals work with Tangut characters; in ordinary chat, it reads as an opaque mark.
Alone in a casual message, it does not reliably convey a Tangut word.

1Why does 𘣯 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
