What 𘤂 means
It has no standalone meaning as a word. In Xixia writing, Tangut components are pieces used to index and describe whole characters, including written breakdowns that show how a character is assembled. The component label identifies a piece; the complete character carries the word and its meaning.
The Tangut script was disseminated in 1036 for writing the Tangut language in Western Xia (Xixia), a medieval state in northern China. Surviving texts include Buddhist works and secular writing. After Western Xia fell in 1227, written use continued into the Ming dynasty. A proposed connection to Khitan, another medieval script used in northern China, rests on both scripts' use of character parts; that link remains uncertain.
