What 𘤍 means
Scholars use 𘤍 to organize Tangut characters in dictionaries. Components also help them describe and analyze each character's structure.
Tangut, also called Xixia, is a distinct script for the Tangut language, though it resembles Chinese writing. Created under Western Xia’s first emperor around 1036 CE as part of state-building, it appears in a Khara-Khoto manuscript fragment probably from the 12th or early 13th century. After Western Xia fell in 1227, Tangut continued under Yuan and Ming rule, becoming obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty. Surviving texts include official, private, and religious works.
