What 𘦣 means
Use hex input that supports supplementary-plane characters. Enter 189A3 in its code-point field; if 𘦣 appears as a blank box, your font lacks Tangut coverage.
What does Tangut component 420 mean?
It is a structural component, not a translated word. Tangut components support dictionary lookup and IDS notation—short formulas that show how a larger character is arranged from parts. Unicode's component set brings together systems used in Tangut dictionaries and publications. A component's role can depend on the character that contains it; this inventory number does not give this one a fixed reading or make it a dictionary radical.
Why did Tangut develop components?
Tangut was the state script of Western Xia. Created in 1036 for government writing and a Buddhist canon, it drew on Chinese and neighboring Khitan traditions. The Sea of Characters, a Tangut dictionary, analyzed characters through their component relationships; surviving manuscripts include Tangut material from the 12th or early 13th century.
A technical notation component; a box on screen points to missing Tangut font coverage.
No: by itself, it is not a Tangut word.
