What 𘦾 means
It is a component used to analyze larger Tangut characters. Tangut components help scholars index and describe full characters; this component alone has no reliable word translation or pronunciation. Any meaning or sound it contributes belongs to the complete character that contains it.
Tangut writing was created under the first Western Xia emperor around 1036 to write the Tangut language. The Tangut script was modeled broadly on Chinese writing, but it is distinct and cannot be read as Chinese. It appears in official, private, and religious texts; its use continued after Western Xia fell into the 16th century.
In Unicode reference work, components also serve as units for scholarly indexing and formal descriptions of how larger characters are built. That is why 𘦾 can appear alone in a reference context without functioning as a word.
How do I enter Tangut component 447?
Use a Unicode-aware input method that accepts code points. Enter U189BE if that input method offers code-point entry. If the character appears as an empty box, the font lacks Tangut coverage; a font that supports Tangut can display the same character.
Specialist and archival: alone, it points to Tangut-script study or reference text rather than an ordinary conversation word.
Alone, it does not reliably communicate a word.

1Questions people ask
1Why does 𘦾 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut Components block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
