What 𗀮 means
It means “to meet,” or “to catch an illness.”
In 1036, Western Xia ruler Li Yuanhao commissioned a distinct Tangut script for state-building and Buddhist translation. It drew inspiration from Chinese writing but did not derive from it; neighboring Khitan people had created two scripts about a century earlier.
A manuscript from the ruined city of Khara-Khoto contains a Chinese text translated into Tangut; it is thought to date to the 12th or early 13th century. Tangut Buddhist texts continued into the Yuan dynasty after Western Xia fell.
