What 𗀷 means

“To ripple”: movement in small waves. A Tangut dictionary gives this gloss for 𗀷.

The Tangut state commissioned its script in 1036 for state-building, Buddhist scripture, and a distinct identity alongside Song China. It drew on Chinese writing and the Khitan script tradition but remained separate. Tangut books include Buddhist translations, Confucian teachings, military texts, and literature; a Khara-Khoto manuscript probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century.

A historical script character with a dictionary gloss.

Tangut is a distinct script; 𗀷 is not a Chinese character.

Why does 𗀷 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
