What 𗎁 means
“Cold” is the best-supported English gloss, but it needs context.
Tangut was the language and writing system of the medieval Western Xia kingdom. In 1036, ruler Li Yuanhao introduced the script for state-building and cultural distinction. A 12th-century Tangut pronunciation reference lists 𗎁. Scholars reconstruct its readings as *rjir² and *²rir₄; these technical spellings represent Tangut sounds, not English translations.
A specialist script entry, not a self-explanatory chat message.
Alone, it does not reliably tell someone “I’m cold.”
