What 𗏱 means
The English index translates it as “to combine.” The 2008 index to Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary lists it as L3313 and records the reading in Latin letters as ljị.
Tangut writing became official in the Western Xia state in 1036. After the state fell in 1227, Buddhist manuscripts (handwritten religious texts) and books printed under Yuan rule kept Tangut in use. Its forms were modeled on Chinese regular script, a formal writing style; that influence does not make Tangut and Chinese characters interchangeable.
Historical Tangut writing; a gloss helps readers unfamiliar with the language.
