What does 𗐺 mean?
It means “gate” or “door” in Tangut.
Tangut writing was created around 1036 for the Western Xia state. It supported a distinct political identity and the production of a Buddhist canon—a collection of scriptures—and appears in official, religious, and secular texts. It remained in use after Western Xia fell and became obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty.
Is 𗐺 Chinese?
No. It is a Tangut character, not a Chinese one.
Traditional Chinese 門 is recorded as the Han-character source associated with 𗐺. This is a historical link between separate writing systems, not proof that the characters are interchangeable.
A historical Tangut character; use it for the Tangut word for a gate or door.
Do not substitute it for Chinese 门 or use it as a generic door icon.
