What 𗒃 means
Its meaning comes from the Tangut word and passage. The Tangut script, also called Xixia writing, was promulgated in 1036 under Li Yuanhao as part of state-building. It adapted Chinese character-writing principles to record the Tangut language in government, literature, and translations from Chinese and Tibetan.
A Tangut manuscript fragment, undated and probably from the 12th or early 13th century, shows the script's medieval use. The Tangut pronunciation of 𗒃 is reconstructed as lja̱²: roughly, an l followed by a brief y-like glide into a, in one syllable. This is a scholarly sound estimate, not a translation. If the glyph appears as an empty box, your font lacks Tangut coverage.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗒃 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
