What 𗔓 means
Li Fanwen’s Tangut–Chinese dictionary glosses it as “to borrow.” That is a short dictionary equivalent, not a full modern definition. Unicode’s assigned label identifies 𗔓 but does not translate it.
Around 1036, Tangut writing was developed for the Western Xia state and its official and cultural work. It was used for official, legal and literary writing, including Buddhist texts. Its forms drew on Chinese and Khitan writing traditions, but Tangut is a distinct script. The latest known Tangut inscription dates to 1502. If 𗔓 appears as an empty box, the font may lack Tangut coverage; the missing glyph does not change the character.
It reads as a specialist historical reference; include the gloss when it appears in a modern message.
Is 𗔓 Chinese? No. It is Tangut, a distinct script, not a Chinese character.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗔓 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
