What 𗚑 means
It is associated with reverence or piety.
A Tangut dictionary pairs it with Chinese 虔, a word for reverence; this explains the meaning but is not another form of 𗚑.
When did Tangut writing become official?
It became Western Xia’s official script in 1036.
The choice was part of the state’s project for cultural autonomy.
A text dated 1070/1071 may be the earliest known dated example; Buddhist inscriptions from 1345 and 1502 show that Tangut writing survived the state.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗚑 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
