What 𗛣 means
Its reconstructed reading is a sound, not a translation. Tangut scholar Li Fanwen's 2008 table writes the reading in Latin letters as low¹; this spelling represents an estimated Tangut syllable, not an English word or gloss. A Tangut dictionary and context give the word sense.
Created in 1036 for Western Xia government and Buddhist translation, Tangut writing drew on Chinese and Khitan traditions but remained distinct. Khitan was another regional script.
The earliest transmitted Tangut document dates to 1072. Legal, religious, classical, and secular writing continued after Western Xia fell; a 1502 inscription shows the script's later survival.
Historical and specialist; suited to Tangut texts or script discussion.
A missing box usually means the font lacks Tangut coverage, not that 𗛣 is invalid.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗛣 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
