What 𗞫 means
It is glossed “fragrant”; lji transcribes its reconstructed reading.
Devised in 1036–1037 for the Tangut language and Western Xia, a state, the script served government, a Buddhist canon (a collection of Buddhist writings), and Tangut identity. The earliest surviving Tangut document is an official Guazhou record dated 1072; that dates a document, not this character.
Tangut writing later carried Buddhist, legal, official, military, and literary works. A 1502 inscription shows it survived the fall of Western Xia. Chinese and Khitan writing influenced its design, but Tangut remained a separate system: its characters cannot be read as Chinese or Khitan characters.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗞫 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
