What 𗟟 means
It is a Tangut character glossed “bottom.”
That is a dictionary gloss, not a picture clue. Read it as a Tangut word; the surrounding sentence gives its exact sense.
Is 𗟟 Chinese?
No. It belongs to Tangut, a separate script.
Tangut took design cues from Chinese writing and earlier scripts used by its neighboring Khitan people; it remains a separate system.
Manuscript forms vary. Unicode treats shapes that do not distinguish words in a source as one character, so a font is not a facsimile of every manuscript.
Tangut writing outlived the Western Xia state
The Western Xia state in what is now northwestern China made the Tangut script official around 1036 to mark autonomy and support Buddhist scripture. A court document from around 1070–1071 may be the oldest dated surviving piece.
After Western Xia fell to the Mongols in 1227, Tangut writing continued, especially in Buddhist texts. Two stone pillars at Baoding in northern China carry Tangut inscriptions dated 1502.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗟟 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
