What 𗠼 means
It means “tasty” in Tangut.
The Tangut script was promulgated in 1036 as a state writing system for Western Xia, the Tangut kingdom. It appeared in government and diplomatic records, law codes, translations of Chinese classics and Buddhist texts, dictionaries, manuscripts, and printed books. Tangut writing continued after the dynasty, with dated material surviving as late as 1502.
Is 𗠼 Chinese?
No. It is a Tangut character.
The Tangut script drew on Chinese writing but represents the Tangut language; the two scripts are mutually illegible. Its resemblance can explain the mix-up, but this character cannot be read as a Chinese character.
Use it as a historical Tangut reference; a short gloss helps readers outside Tangut studies.
Its Chinese-like shape does not make it readable as Chinese.
