What 𗡢 means
It means “to help” in Tangut. Li Fanwen’s dictionary lists 𗡢 as entry 0561. The 12th century Homophones is a Tangut sound dictionary.
The Tangut script was created in 1036 to write the Western Xia state’s language, official records, and translations. Its design drew on Chinese character writing, but it served another language; 𗡢 is Tangut, not a Chinese character.
Why does 𗡢 show as a box?
A box usually means no available font can display Tangut. It does not change the character. The sample shape in Unicode’s chart is only a reference, so fonts that support Tangut may draw it differently. Tangut writing survived Western Xia’s fall in 1227; Buddhist inscription pillars at Baoding were erected in 1502.
The dictionary gloss gives a meaning, not the reason someone sent the character.
Chinese-like strokes do not make this a Chinese character.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗡢 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.

𗡢\17862Why is 𗡢 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
