What 𗣂 means
It names a shell by its resemblance to jade.
Li Fanwen’s 2008 dictionary lists it as entry 3114 (L2008-3114): “a kind of shell which looks like a jade.”
Tangut is a separate script with Chinese-like forms. It was created around 1036 to write the Tangut language and assert Western Xia’s independence. Buddhist writing continued after the state fell in 1227; an inscription dated 1502 is among the latest known examples.
