What 𗣾 means
The dictionary points to “plan” or “scheme.”
Unicode maps 𗣾 to entry 2215 in Li Fanwen’s 2008 Tangut–Chinese dictionary. There, the Chinese character 謀 supplies the gloss “plan,” “scheme,” or “plot”; surrounding Tangut words settle the exact sense. The Unicode name identifies the character but does not translate it.
What does it mean when someone sends 𗣾?
One character cannot explain why someone sent it.
You can identify it as Tangut writing and connect it to the dictionary gloss, but you cannot infer the sender’s intended message from the glyph alone. Ask for the surrounding Tangut text or why they chose it.
When did Tangut writing begin?
The Tangut script was created for Western Xia around 1036.
Western Xia was a state in what is now northwestern China. The script was built to write Tangut, the state’s language, drawing on Chinese-character models while remaining distinct. It served government and Buddhist writing; books, sutras, inscriptions, and manuscripts also record legal, historical, economic, and private life.
After the Mongol conquest, Tangut writing continued in Yuan and Ming-era materials before falling out of use by the end of the Ming dynasty. The script was rediscovered in the late 19th century; bilingual texts and dictionaries helped scholars decipher it, including the early-20th-century work of Russian scholar N. A. Nevskij.
Historical and specialist; suits Tangut texts, dictionary work, or a clearly labeled script sample.
A lone send does not reveal the sender’s intent.

Questions people ask
2Why does 𗣾 show as a box?
Usually a font issue: the current font lacks a Tangut glyph. The text can still contain 𗣾 even when the font draws an empty box.
Can Chinese readers read 𗣾?
No. It belongs to the Tangut script, a separate writing system for another language; knowing Chinese does not by itself let you read it.
