tangut ideograph-17963

Tangut character 17963

2404/6136

𗥣 is a historical Tangut character; its Unicode label identifies a code point, not a reading or meaning. Tangut script (also called Xixia script) emerged in the 11th century for the Tangut language and served government, translation, and Buddhist printing; Tangut texts continued after Western Xia fell in 1227. A dictionary index lists this glyph as L3788/#4037, and showing it requires a Tangut-capable font.

Why does 𗥣 show as a box on some devices?

Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
