Tangut Character 17967

2408/6136

𗥧 is a Tangut character; «Tangut Ideograph-17967» is its Unicode inventory label, not a translation of its word meaning. Developed for the Western Xia (Xixia) state in the 11th century, Tangut appears in surviving Buddhist books and Khara-Khoto woodblock prints; the script shares structural features with Khitan and Jurchen writing. A box or blank display may mean your device lacks a font that supports Tangut.

Questions people ask

1

Why does 𗥧 show as a box on some devices?

Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
