What 𗦢 means
It means “to examine, measure, fathom, or weigh up.”
Disseminated in 1036, Tangut was Western Xia’s state script for schools, records, diplomacy, Buddhist translations, and books. Court official Yeli Renrong is traditionally credited with creating it, though authorship is disputed.
The Wénhǎi, a Tangut rhyme dictionary, lists 𗦢 at 3:16.131. Tangut strokes reflect Chinese influence, though its character-building rules differ. After Western Xia fell, the script survived centuries before daily use ended.
