What 𗦻 means
In Tangut, it means “name”; “title” is also recorded.
Scholars reconstruct its reading as mji̱j²; that specialist spelling is not a simple English pronunciation guide. A Tangut Buddhist manuscript from Khara-Khoto also records 𗦻.
The Tangut script was created in 1036 for state-building and official writing, and it was also used for translations, especially Buddhist texts. 𗥠 is a separate Tangut character recorded as a synonym for 𗦻 in the “name” sense.
Historical and scholarly; a Tangut quotation or script discussion gives it clear context.
“Name” gives the word, not whose name is meant.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗦻 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
