What 𗭅 means
It means “silk” in Tangut. The Tangut script wrote the Tangut language; it is distinct from Chinese writing.
Tangut writing was created as Western Xia’s distinct national script in 1036–1037 for official records and literature. The earliest surviving transmitted example is an official document from 1072; that date marks surviving evidence, not the script’s beginning. After the Mongol conquest of Western Xia in 1227, Tangut writing continued. A monumental inscription dated 1502 shows it remained in use long after the state fell.
Historical and specialist: this is a Tangut word for silk, suited to Tangut texts or discussion of the script.
Do not read it as Chinese: it belongs to the distinct Tangut writing system.

1Why does 𗭅 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
