What 𗰟 means
It means “ground” in Tangut. Its square, brush-written form recalls Chinese writing, but it belongs to a separate script.
Western Xia developed Tangut writing as a court project around 1036–1037. Its square brush style reflects traditions associated with Chinese writing and that of the neighboring Khitan people; Tangut characters are not interchangeable with Chinese characters. The script continued under the Yuan and Ming and fell out of use by the end of the Ming period.
