What 𗳅 means
Li Fanwen’s dictionary glosses it as “danger.”
The Tangut script was created in 1036 for building the Western Xia state and translating Buddhist texts. A Khara-Khoto manuscript, probably from the 12th or early 13th century, shows the script in use.
Why does 𗳅 show as a box?
A font without Tangut coverage cannot draw 𗳅.
A Tangut input method (IME) can use RIME dictionary files to enter characters. As of 2026, some mobile apps may fail to display text entered with a browser-based Tangut IME. The IME enters the character; a Tangut font draws it.

1Why does 𗳅 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
