What 𗵹 means
“Distress.” That is the English gloss in a modern Tangut–Chinese character dictionary. 𗵹 is a word in Tangut text, not an emoji reaction.
Western Xia rulers established Tangut writing in 1036–1038 for state records and translations, marking a distinct Tangut identity. Its square forms adapt Chinese strokes and character-building methods.
A court record dated 1069–1070 is among the earliest securely dated Tangut texts. After the state fell in 1227, Tangut writing continued in Buddhist books.

Questions people ask
2Is 𗵹 Chinese?
No. Tangut is a separate historical language and script. Its design borrowed Chinese writing methods, but this glyph represents a Tangut word.
Why does 𗵹 look different in another font?
It can. This is text, so your font draws its shape; fonts that include Tangut may render it differently, while a font without Tangut support may show a missing-glyph box.
