What 𗶈 means
It means “woman” or “female” in Tangut.
Li Fanwen’s 2008 dictionary glosses it “female”; the 12th-century Tangut Wénhǎi (“Sea of Writing”) lists it.
In 1036, Emperor Li Yuanhao ordered Tangut script for Western Xia state-building and a Buddhist canon in Tangut. Tangut followed the Khitan example of two scripts made about a century earlier. Chinese writing inspired Tangut forms and principles but was not its source; Tangut texts translated Chinese and some Tibetan works. Fonts draw it differently; missing Tangut coverage may show a box.
Historical and scholarly.
A Tangut gloss does not make this a general modern gender sign.

1Why does 𗶈 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
