What 𗷵 means
A dictionary index glosses it as “tired.”
The Unicode Tangut chart links 𗷵 to entry 0412 in Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary; an English-language index lists that entry under “tired.” Treat it as a short dictionary gloss, not a complete translation of the character in isolation.
When was the Tangut script created?
The Tangut script was created around 1036.
It was developed under the first Western Xia emperor to support the state and Buddhist religious texts. Tangut writing later served official, private, Buddhist, and translated secular works, remaining in use into the Yuan and Ming periods. Its forms drew on Chinese writing, while the neighboring Khitan state’s earlier script project offered a regional precedent; Tangut remained a distinct script.
If 𗷵 appears as an empty box, rendering is font-dependent: the active font lacks Tangut coverage.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗷵 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
