What 𗹨 means
It names a dwelling; surrounding Tangut text chooses the sense.
𗤥𗹨 means “house.” 𗹨𘗠 appears in a palace-duty phrase translated “door curtain.” Alone, use “dwelling” rather than guessing a narrower gloss.
Tangut was the Western Xia state’s script, commissioned in 1036 for state-building and Buddhist translation; it drew on Chinese and neighboring Khitan writing. A Khara-Khoto Tangut manuscript fragment probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century; that dates the fragment, not 𗹨’s origin.
Historical and specialist; alone, it does not choose one English gloss.
Without context, use “dwelling”; do not guess house, tent, room, or temple.
