What 𗻇 means
Its strokes alone do not give a reliable translation. Use the surrounding Tangut text or a Tangut dictionary to work out what 𗻇 represents in a passage.
The Tangut script, used to write the Tangut language, was developed in 1036 when Li Yuanhao, ruler of Western Xia (Xixia), commissioned Yeli Renrong to create it. Western Xia used it for administration and Buddhist translations. Its forms drew on Chinese writing, but represented a distinct language. Documents show Tangut writing continued after Western Xia fell in 1227.
If 𗻇 appears as a box, the font or app cannot display its glyph. Fonts may draw the same Tangut character differently without changing its identity.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗻇 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
