Text symbol

What 𗻲 means

It names bodily waste.

Tangut writing was created in 1036 for state records, a Buddhist canon—a collection of Buddhist texts—and Tangut identity. The earliest surviving example is an official document from 1072; later manuscripts also include translated secular works.

What does it mean when someone sends 𗻲?

The glyph alone does not show the sender’s intent.

The Tangut word is blunt, but the glyph cannot show why it was sent; ask for context if the message matters. If a box appears instead of the character, the available font cannot render Tangut.

A blunt term for bodily waste in a historical script.

Questions people ask

1

Why does 𗻲 show as a box on some devices?

Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
