What 𗼯 means
Use a Tangut input method.
Tangut input methods can look up characters by reconstructed pronunciation, stroke code, or four-corner code. Xunpin, a Tangut dictionary for the Rime input framework, documents all three; installing an input method does not install a Tangut font.
For direct entry, a Unicode hex-entry tool can accept U17F2F.
What does 𗼯 mean?
It is glossed “turn round” in Tangut.
In 1036, the Western Xia (Xixia) state commissioned Tangut writing for its institutions, a Buddhist canon, and a distinct identity alongside Song China. Its square forms drew on Chinese writing, but it was a separate script; knowing Chinese characters alone did not make Tangut readable. The script also followed an earlier Khitan model of state writing.
Tangut texts continued in manuscripts and records until 1502. They include Buddhist and Confucian works, military and reference books, and literature.
Why does 𗼯 show as a box?
The display font may lack Tangut characters.
In an app or browser without a Tangut-capable font, 𗼯 can remain in the text while a box appears. Another font may draw the same character in a different style.
Specialist historical writing; it belongs in Tangut material, not as an everyday chat mark.
Its Chinese-inspired shape does not make 𗼯 a Chinese character.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗼯 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
