What 𗾼 means

In Tangut, it means “to flee.”

Tangut was the language of the Western Xia state, which used the script for official records and translations. The earliest surviving example is an official document from 1072. Writing continued after the state fell in 1227; an inscription from 1502 is a later example.

Why does 𗾼 appear as a box?

A font without Tangut coverage can cause that. 𗾼 may appear as an empty box or fallback glyph; that changes the display, not the encoded character.

1

Why does 𗾼 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
