What 𘃚 means
A Tangut dictionary glosses it as “to make.”
The Tangut entry 5411 in Li Fanwen’s dictionary carries that word-level gloss. Treat it as a clue, not a complete translation: the character alone does not tell you how it fits a line or what a sender intended.
Is 𘃚 Chinese?
No. It belongs to the Tangut script.
The Western Xia state, a medieval kingdom in northwestern China, developed Tangut around 1036 for official and cultural writing, including Buddhist texts and law codes. Tangut’s square characters drew on Chinese and Khitan writing traditions, but the script is distinct. Its use continued through the Yuan and Ming dynasties before becoming obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty.
A specialist reference to a historical writing system.
Its Chinese-like shape does not make it a Chinese character.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘃚 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.

fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
