What 𘄻 means
It is glossed “lower limbs.”
A record appears in The Sea of Writing, a Tangut rhyme dictionary arranged by sound.
In 1036, Western Xia's ruler Li Yuanhao commissioned a script for the Tangut language; scholars connect the project to Buddhist translation and a distinct state identity. Chinese writing inspired its look, and an earlier Khitan script may also have influenced its design. It served official, private, and religious texts after Western Xia fell, into the early Ming; Tangut is an extinct language.
