What 𘉒 means
Here it represents a sound, not a separate word meaning.
The scholarly reconstruction ²mo₁ represents one Tangut syllable, roughly “mo.” In the sequence 𘉒𗺹𗓽𘀺, it marks the first sound in mahoraga, a Sanskrit term for a class of great serpent beings in Buddhist and Jain traditions.
Created in 1036, Tangut writing served the Western Xia state and its Buddhist texts. Chinese writing influenced it; Khitan scripts were regional precedents. Western Xia fell in 1227; Tangut texts continued until 1502. A 2018 study places the Tangut sound guide Homonyms after a related work, Synonyms, whose closing note is dated 1188.

1Why does 𘉒 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
