What 𘎬 means
It means “to harvest.” In Tangut, this is the action of bringing in crops, not the crop itself.
Is 𘎬 Chinese?
No. It is Tangut, not Chinese. Its square style drew on Chinese writing, but Tangut uses characters made for a different language.
The Khitan, Tangut’s neighbors, had created scripts a century earlier; one drew on Chinese. Tangut followed that example and survived Western Xia’s fall in 1227, serving official, Buddhist and translated texts before falling out of use by the Ming dynasty’s end.
