What 𘏜 means
It is a Tangut character glossed as “rope.”
Tangut was created around 1036 under the first emperor of Western Xia, a medieval state in northwestern China, to write the Tangut language. The script was used from about the 11th century through the 16th century, including under Yuan and Ming rule, and became obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty. As of 2026, 𘏜 has no established modern social meaning.
Historical and specialist; the “rope” gloss belongs in Tangut text or a discussion of its history.
A recipient may see only a box if their font lacks Tangut support.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘏜 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
