What 𘐓 means
Its dictionary gloss is “to unfold”; Tangut is distinct from Chinese writing.
The Xixia script drew on Chinese visual principles but remained distinct. In 1036, Western Xia emperor Li Yuanhao made it official to strengthen the state and translate Buddhist texts. A Tangut manuscript at Khara-Khoto, a site where such texts survived, dates to around the 12th century. The script remained in Buddhist and printed texts after Western Xia fell in 1227. If 𘐓 appears as a box or blank, the font lacks Tangut coverage.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘐓 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
