What 𘓆 means
The attested title does not settle its standalone meaning.
The Tangut title 𘓆𘒣 for the Analects is a book title, not a word-by-word gloss that safely translates 𘓆 alone as “Analects.” The second character, 𘒣, has senses including “to say,” “words,” and “speech.”
Tangut texts include Buddhist, legal, and Confucian works; that range does not show that this character’s meaning changed between them.
Why does 𘓆 resemble Chinese writing?
It draws on Chinese visual ideas but belongs to a separate writing system.
Tangut writing borrowed visual and structural ideas from Chinese characters, but Chinese readers could not simply read it.
The Tangut tradition developed alongside the Khitan scripts of northern China. Resemblance alone does not establish that this specific character descends directly from either script.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘓆 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
