What 𘔈 means
A Tangut dictionary glosses it as “to realize.”
The Western Xia court made the Tangut script its state writing system in 1036–37 for records and translations. A 1072 Tangut dispatch is the earliest surviving document; Buddhist inscriptions from 1348 and a 1502 pillar inscription show use after the state fell in 1227. A 1190 Tangut–Chinese vocabulary book says the scripts differ in form but share roots; a direct link to the earlier writing system of neighboring Khitan people remains debated.
Why does 𘔈 look different from 𘔉?
A 2025 glyph review found one unresolved component difference.
It compared Unicode with a Tangut dictionary: their upper-right component differs, and the evidence did not show which form was historically right. The reviewers kept the Unicode form.

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
