What 𘔠 means
Its dictionary gloss is “servant.”
Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary indexes 𘔠 as entry 1774 under “servant.” That historical gloss alone cannot settle the exact sense or a sender’s intent today.
Is 𘔠 Chinese?
No. Tangut is a separate script.
The script was created around 1036 for the Western Xia (Xixia) state. It served government, private, and Buddhist writing and marked state identity; use continued under Yuan and Ming rule after Western Xia fell. The neighboring Khitan people also used a distinct script for state-building. Tangut resembles Chinese writing but is separate.
Older pre-Unicode Tangut fonts sometimes mapped signs to character positions used by Chinese, Japanese, and Korean writing. Those mappings can conflict with Unicode; without Tangut font support, this sign may appear as a box or a different glyph.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘔠 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
