What 𘔣 means

L1763 is glossed “to increase” in Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary.

Western Xia authorities ordered the script into use in 1036 for government writing and Buddhist translation. Its designers drew on Chinese writing principles without deriving from Chinese; Khitan scripts were a regional precedent. At Khara-Khoto, a Western Xia-era city site, evidence includes Chinese translations and secular books; one manuscript probably dates from the 12th or early 13th century. Tangut texts also include Tibetan translations. Fonts draw 𘔣 differently.

Why does 𘔣 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
