What 𘕁 means
A Tangut dictionary translates it as “to note.”
An English index to Li Fanwen’s 2008 Tangut dictionary lists this sign as entry 3993. Tangut is a writing system distinct from Chinese.
Why was the Tangut script created?
It was made for the Western Xia state.
The script was created around 1036. The earliest surviving Tangut document is an official dispatch dated 1072. A stone inscription from 1502 shows the script remained in use after Western Xia fell. Tangut signs drew on Chinese writing; influence from Khitan, another historical script of the region, is possible.

fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
