tangut ideograph-185f3

Tangut character 185F3

5620/6136

𘗳 is a character in Tangut script, also called Xixia, used to write Tangut. Developed around 1036 under Western Xia rule, its design drew on Chinese character forms and followed the example of neighboring Khitan people. After Western Xia fell in 1227, Tangut books and Buddhist inscriptions persisted, including a scripture pillar dated 1502. The Chinese-like shape is not a Chinese character; display needs a Tangut-capable font.
