What 𘗽 means
It means “life” in Tangut.
Introduced by the Western Xia court around 1036, the Tangut script gave the Tangut language a writing system and marked the court’s claim to a distinct culture. Its forms drew on Chinese writing conventions, but Tangut is a separate script. It appears in official, private, and religious texts; Buddhist books in Tangut were still printed after Western Xia fell in 1227. A Tangut toast places 𘗽 before “ten thousand autumns,” wishing someone a long life.
