What 𘙡 means
It means “obstinate”: stubborn and unwilling to change.
The gloss comes from Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary.
In 1036-37, Western Xia ruler Li Yuanhao commissioned Tangut writing for government and Buddhist translation, and to express the kingdom’s distinct identity beside Song China. It drew on Chinese and Khitan models but remained a separate script. The earliest known example is an official document from 1072; a 1502 inscription shows its use after Western Xia fell.
A historical Tangut word, opaque without a gloss.
Alone, 𘙡 gives readers unfamiliar with Tangut no clue to its meaning.

Questions people ask
1Why can 𘙡 look different in different fonts?
It can. Unicode treats some historical Tangut glyph variants as the same character when their shape difference does not distinguish separate characters. Fonts may draw 𘙡 differently while preserving its identity.
