What 𘝱 means
A Tangut dictionary glosses it as “place” or “position.”
Entry 5324 pairs 𘝱 with Chinese 位. That gloss is not a pronunciation or a full guide to its role inside a Tangut word.
The Tangut script was created around 1036 for Western Xia (Xixia) state correspondence and Buddhist translation. It drew on Chinese visual principles but remained distinct, and developed alongside state scripts used by the Khitan. Buddhist inscriptions continued after Western Xia fell; the Baoding pillars from 1502 bear dharanis, sacred Buddhist formulas.
Historical script; its dictionary gloss needs sentence context.
